Set a Fire
Posted: October 1, 2012 Filed under: Monday Morning Music 4 CommentsHey guys,
Just got back last night from a weekend in Tucson, Arizona for the launch service of a new church planting there. I was able to come in on Friday afternoon and join the team sharing our faith and passing out invitations on campus and in the surrounding neighborhoods on Friday afternoon and all day Saturday. It was so invigorating for my faith and a great way to have our souls set on fire – sharing the good news. Been a while since I met so many people in a short amount of time, and there are so many open students at the U of A campus, it will be amazing to see what God will do in the months ahead. It was encouraging to see 470 people in attendance at the launch service!
I wanted to repost this great song and posting from worship leader and youth minister Ross Lippencott of the NY Church. It really ministered to my soul this morning, thinking about the great weekend and wanting to stay connected to God, keep the spirit alive in my life this week. So, to repost from Ross’ blog…

…and there is a great line in this song that goes “set a fire down in my soul that I can’t contain, that I can’t control” … So when I checked this song out, I LOVED IT !!! for many reasons. Its a really accessible and easy to learn worship song, which seems simple at first and yet is so deep and passionate. Here are the lyrics:

Drew me to tears! I want more of HIM! What a beautiful way to worship!
Yeah, it’s a great song – look forward to singing it with our group.
That’s so great that you got to help out at Tucson! I love hearing about their growth. A brother from my region, LAICOC North, moved there to help out. It is always encouraging to know God’s work is being done. =)
Been a long time since I met so many new people inviting them to church – it was great for my faith. Amazing to see God move in a great way.
