Chord Charts

Right click and “save as” to your hard drive –most are in .doc form and simple! Obviously these are not the only way, or even the right way to do these tunes, but they represent the arrangements I usually use.  Some are songs I’ve written, others are from the DPI songbook, contemporary Christian or secular songs we’ve used in our worship services.  (Note: if a song title begins with “The” look under the “T’s” –even though that breaks the rules of alphabetizing, it was easier for me.) I haven’t been updating the covers on this page for a number of years, since we’ve been using Planning Center Online. But legacy songs are here. I’m presently updating all of my original songs on here.

    Hi Brian,

Great job at the NECC/IWMC! You lead a song on Sat morning but I’m not sure what it’s called. I think it’s “Amazed.” Do you have the lyrics for it posted somewhere? Would like to teach and sing it back home.

Thanks for everything you do brother! Keep it going!

  6. Al Wood says:

    Hi Brian,
Thank you for posting these chords, it helps a ton, especially for folks like myself who are fairly new to playing guitar. You inspired me 2 years ago to to start playing at the DC conference. I’ve been playing for about a year and a half now.

  11. matt says:

Awesome! Thanks Brian! I am going on a mission team to Portland, maine and will be in charge of Worship. Although I knew a few of these already, there were alot I didn’t know that will help bring out the Heart of Worship in such a powerful way! I am so excited to play these songs with the mission team and eventually our congregation, and bring a lot of glory and praise to God! Thank you again for making this a great resource to us!

  12. matty says:

Any cahnce you could do a chord chart for MY LORD HEARD JERUSALEM?……Thanks so much for doing this bro….Our worship up here in Portland, maine is rocking, and I have to thank you for that. I have been totally amazed at what one man and guitar can do to make worship amazing. My hope is as we baptize more souls, that we will be blessed with more singers and musicians….but for now its me and my Taylor acoustic. Thanks for inspiring me to take worship higher! Home in heaven, By faith, and Lead me to the rock are becoming a consistent part of our worship!

    In Him,

    Matt Butts

    • jbriancraig says:

We’re just finalizing sheet music for that one – I think either Sherwin Mackintosh or his son Chase was working on the arrangement. I’ll get that one posted soon as soon as they’re done – that’s a popular one at campus conferences.

      • ikecarter says:

Hey again Brian, thank you so much for all of this! I was wondering if My Lord Heard Jerusalem is completed yet? If so where can we access the sheet music/chords?

        Thank you!

        • jbriancraig says:

Sherwin Mackintosh was working on that one – let me see what happened with it and let you know. Thanks!

          • ikecarter says:

            Hello bro :]
Hope all is well, do you have any update on the chords for My Lord Heard Jerusalem?

            • jbriancraig says:

I have sheet music – I’ll send it to your email.

              • Leo Villanueva says:

Hi Brian, I had a printed version of Sherwin’s chord chart for my lord heard jerusalem, but I need to have a digital copy. Would you be able to send it to me as well?

              • Leo Villanueva says:

Hi Brian, we’re trying to add the copyright info for My Lord Heard Jerusalem for the slides. I can’t find it anywhere. Since you have sheet music, I’m assuming you have the copyright info?

              • jbriancraig says:

Hey bro the sheet music I have has © S. Chase Mackintosh but no CCLI number. I think that is one of those songs we don’t know where it came from but Chase did the SATB arrangement for the songbook. Thanks for trying to give proper credit!

  13. Leo Etcharte-Tine says:

Hey Brian, I made my own for “I’ve Been Redeemed”; maybe you can make your own unless you like mine; it’s pretty simple, but I don’t know exactly how to explain the chords. You’ll figure it out though.

I use G with my ring finger on the second string, 3rd fret (this is for the beginning “I’ve been redeemed, by the blood of the lamb, I’ve been re…” and then D “eemed, by the blood of the…” Then back to the same G chord “la___mb, I’ve been re..” then C “deemed by the blood of the lamb, filled with the…” then back to G “Holy Ghost I am, all my…” then back to D “sins are washed away, I’ve been re…” then C “de” then D “ee” then G “emed” (those last chords I just strum once each-it’s fast).

Basically, it’s almost exactly like the song, but slightly different. But it makes it so fun. I strum all the main parts down then up (fast), then I silence the strings with my hand, so it gives it a beat, sort to speak (obviously I don’t know all the lingo, but you’ll figure it out I think).

Hope you like it, and if you come up with a better one, please post it!

    Thanks,
    Leo

  14. Brian after listening to your new CD i began to realize just how anointed you are. I found myself replaying Rejoice, the fourth track, over and over. Brother this is just one of the most outstanding praise songs i have ever heard. It should be nominated for a Dove award or a Grammy!. Its so well produced , the words, the music, the percussion, the opening piano and the build up is simply breathtaking. The groove is just in the Spirit- Everything about is excellent. Best of all – it makes me want to burst out in worship to our God and King. Thanks for all you are doing to let God use you to write great songs of worship.. your brother, Phillip Lester

    • jbriancraig says:

Hey Philip, thanks so much for your kind words of encouragement – means a lot, especially from a gifted musician like yourself! Hey, if you get a chance, I wonder if you might cut and past your comment onto my CD page (www.cdbaby.com/jbriancraig) as a review or into an iTunes review? I don’t have any album reviews posted yet for this one…

  15. Rebekah says:

Hi, some of our choir members at church are putting together a Praise Band. I am looking for the words and music for “Walkin’ On the Heaven Roads.” I used to sing it at VBS when I was a kid in the late 70’s. Can you help? Thank you so much….
    Rebekah

    • jbriancraig says:

      Here’s what I’ve got

      Walking on the Heaven Road

      G / G / D / D
      G / G / D / G (break)
      G / G / C / C
      G / G / D / D7
      G / G / C / A7/C#
      G / emin / amin7 D / G

      Carryin’ such a heavy load?
      Sinner, lay your burden down;
      ’Cause we’re walkin’
      on the heaven road.

      And when you’re walkin’
      on the heaven road
Gonna lay down that heavy load.
Jesus said he’d walk along with me,
      Praise God, glory hallelujah!
      I’m singin’ all the way,
      Got sunshine in every day;
      Won’t you come along
and join me on that heaven road?

Young folks walkin’ hand in hand
      Singin’ with the angel band.
Old folks ain’t so tired no more
      ’Cause they’re walkin’
      on the heaven road.

Ain’t no tears, no cryin’ there,
      Ain’t no sadness anywhere.
Ain’t got time to shed no tears
’Cause I’m walkin’ on the heaven road.

  16. Nick Galang says:

  19. Mitchell says:

Hey man! Thanks for compiling this! Down here in Auburn, AL we are trying to amp it up, and I have been having trouble trying to figure out chords for some of our traditional songs. This is great!! Thanks a lot man!!

  20. Michael Boehlke says:

This is great! I just stumbled upon it via Google (God bless Google!). I’m one of the musical directors in the West Region of The Toronto Church of Christ.

Thank you very much. This will definitely be one of my “go-to” sites from now on when planning services.

    Mike Boehlke

  22. Dulin says:

Hi Brian, it’s really awesome to see your compilation on all these songs, really appreciate your hard work. Our church song ministry wanted to sing this song “encourage my soul” and found hard time to play it with guitar, do u have recording for this song, can you help to post for us to learn?Thank you very much.

  23. Dulin says:

Wow, that’s really awesome. Thank u Brian.

  24. Nate Cahill says:

Thought I’d share something for anyone who owns an iPad and leads worship: I would HIGHLY recommend checking out the Onsong app. It is a tremendous tool for organizing chord charts and has tons of cool features. It was developed specifically for worship leaders. I will be using it in our Sunday worship services in Phoenix.
Got several Brian Craig charts loaded up already! I really appreciate this resource – it has helped our band a lot for several years now.

  25. Douglas E. says:

I’m glad that you’ve posted most of the chord charts for the songs from “Remain In Me;Songs from a Savior”.

Do you have Chord Charts for “The Prodigal”, “You’re Not Alone”, and/or “The Wedding Banquet?” I’d love to learn how to play them.

  26. Annabel of Iowa says:

    Wow Brian!
Thanks for this resource. Just picked up the guitar last fall to help out with our itty bitty congregation in Des Moines, Iowa.
    Thanks again!

    • jbriancraig says:

Thanks for the feedback, Annabel. I have a backlog of chords from newer songs to post so this inspires me to get it done. God bless.

  27. Philip Norman says:

Finally! A place I can come to when
Someone asks ” can you play this” and you can’t remember even though you’ve
played the song a hundred times. Thanks for the trip down memory lane and back into The Lamb jams.PTL!

    • jbriancraig says:

Thanks for the encouragement. Inspires me to update the site with lots of new chord charts — I’ll have to do that soon.

  28. GODWIN OBOT says:

  29. Jason J Wells says:

    Hey Brian,

Much love from Colorado Springs! I love your work and have a question. I am learning the Ukelele and would love to use it with Praises Heard Around the World. Can you help me with the chords for the Uke? Thanks again – God is certainly demonstrated through you!

    In Him,
    Jason

    • jbriancraig says:

Hey bro good idea to use ukulele for that song. On guitar I normally play it in B and it’s that way on my CD but if I were playing ukulele I would probably play it in they key of A. Here are chords for that:

      PRAISES HEARD AROUND THE WORLD
      (key of A)

      Verse:
      A / D / A / E
      A / D / A / E

      Chorus:
      D / A / E / A
      D / A / E / A

  30. Richard says:

    Good morning, Mr. Craig.
I am having a hard time with the strumming pattern for ‘Lead me to the rock’. Is there strumming pattern for this song? If not, can you recommend a strumming pattern for this song? Very much appreciated. Thanks

Hi Brian! I’m replying to your reply that you sent me within my comment from your This Holy Battle’s Won, YouTube video, since it didn’t let me send the below there:

@jbriancraig  I sent a reply but it disappeared so Im rewriting what I rememeber) below is the folder with the backing tracks, some yours, some are for other songs; just easier to send you the one link (do you have an email you can share? I used to email with you probably 10 years ago, so I dont have whatever I had). By the way, was “My Lord Heard Jerusalem” one of yours? Because I did a fun recording on that. Same for “I Want Jesus to Walk With Me”.Here is the folder:

Disclaimer: I’m a novice guitar player and super wet behind the ears on recording, plus I was born deaf in my right ear, so have some grace. The older songs are worse than the newer ones I recorded, simply because I didn’t know what clipping was (ha!), didnt use a metronome (sin!), and I recorded all the way through instead of parts, etc. But I think for all my weaknesses, some came out alright. You tell me.
