Empty Me Medley

empty me.001We had a Sunday theme last week of “Unselfish: Think of Yourself Less.” In keeping with that theme there is a great Jeremy Camp song called “Empty Me” we thought we had to sing.  And it worked great to make it a medley with “I Give Myself Away” by William McDowell and the classic “Here I Am to Worship” that speaks about how Jesus emptied himself for us.  It ended up being  a very powerful and moving time in our worship service.  Here is a recording from our worship team rehearsal, and the lyrics, in case you would want to use the medley sometime in your worship.

Empty Me Medley

EMPTY ME (Jeremy Camp)

Holy fire burn away
My desire for anything
That is not of you and is of me
I want more of you
And less of me

Holy fire burn away
My desire for anything
That is not of you and is of me
I want more of you
And less of me

Empty me
Empty me
Won’t you fill me
With you, with you

I GIVE MYSELF AWAY (William McDowell)

I give myself away
I give myself away
So You can use me
I give myself away
I give myself away
So You can use me

Here I am, Here I stand
Lord, my life is in your hands
Lord, I’m longing to see
Your desires revealed in me

Take my heart, Take my life
As a living sacrifice
All my dreams, all my plans
Lord I place them in your hands

My life is not my own
To you I belong
I give myself, I give myself to You

HERE I AM TO WORSHIP (Tim Hughes)

Light of the world
You stepped out into darkness
Opened my eyes, let me see
Beauty that made
This heart adore you
Hope of a life spent with you

Here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that
You’re my God
Your altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me

King of all days
Oh so highly exalted
Glorious in heaven above
Humbly you came
To the earth you created
All for love’s sake became poor

I’ll never know how much it cost
To see my sins upon that cross
