You Are My Everything

BettySongWe had our annual worship service with the whole LA Church of Christ a few weeks ago.  It’s always a highlight of the year as many thousands of disciples from the greater LA area gather in praise.  We debuted a new song written by a great sister in my local ministry, Betty Collins.  Our own group has been loving this song, and I was sure the whole LA Church would dig it as well.  I love the intimacy and vulnerability of this prayer to God.  Betty gave me permission to share the song with you.  Below is a video of the song as we did it in the LA service, as well as a demo recording and teaching recording I made for our worship team when I helped Betty arrange the song.

YOU ARE MY EVERYTHING

D    A/C# / Bm7    G
(repeating)

Why you love me so
Will I ever know
What you see in me
Beyond my frailties

I can be myself
In my prayers with you
You know me so well
No mask, I wear with you

You are the love of my soul
You are the one who makes whole
You are my everything. You are

You say I’m perfectly made
You say I’m covered in grace
Unconditionally loved
My sin recalled no more

I can hear your voice
In the still of the night
You reveal the course
The plan you have for my life

You are the love of my soul
You are the one who makes whole
You are my everything. You are
You hold my heart in your hand
Speak to me tenderly
And I am unafraid
You love for me runs deep

I let my guard down
Cause I’m safe with you
And in your presence, I’ve found
No greater refuge

You are the love of my soul
You are the one who makes whole
You are my everything, You are
